Because protection is measured in microns, and trust in years.

Passive Fire Protection Systems

Unlike active systems, passive fire protection (PFP) does not “activate” and has no moving parts. It is integrated into the building’s structure itself, and its purpose is to contain the fire within a single zone (fire compartment) and prevent the building from collapsing for a specified period of time.

Protection of the load-bearing structure

Fire-retardant paints

Applying fire-retardant paint requires absolute precision, as the thickness of the coating directly determines the number of minutes of fire resistance. We guarantee precision at every stage:

Clean the metal and apply a compatible anti-corrosion primer (e.g., HENSOGRUND) to ensure perfect adhesion.

The paint is applied using specialized airless sprayers, which ensure a perfectly smooth surface and even distribution of the material.

We conduct continuous monitoring during the coating process. We measure both the wet film thickness (WFT) and the dry film thickness (DFT) using calibrated digital thickness gauges to achieve the exact microns specified in the design.

Application of a topcoat in a color of your choice (RAL / NCS), which protects the fire-retardant paint from moisture and UV rays, ensuring an attractive, commercial appearance.

Application of fire-retardant plasters

We offer professional machine application of certified fire-resistant plasters based on cement or gypsum, enriched with lightweight mineral additives (vermiculite or perlite). In the event of a fire, the plaster acts as a powerful thermal insulation shield that slows the critical heating of the building’s structural elements.

The application of fire-resistant plaster requires strict adherence to the manufacturers’ technical specifications and precise machine control:

Clean the substrate of dust, formwork oil, and rust. If necessary, apply a special bonding primer or install a welded reinforcing mesh to ensure perfect adhesion.

We use high-performance, specialized air-assisted screw or diaphragm machines. This enables fast, even, and high-quality application, even on structures with complex geometries.

Depending on the required fire resistance class (R60, R90, R120, R240), the plaster is applied in layers of precise thickness (from 10 mm to over 50 mm). Each stage is monitored and measured digitally.

Plaster can be left with its factory-applied textured surface (spray-type) or can be further smoothed and painted in accordance with the architectural design.

Design and installation of gypsum fiberboard panels for fire protection

When an architectural project requires perfectly smooth surfaces, mechanical strength, and the highest level of fire resistance all at once, cladding with gypsum-fiber boards is an indispensable engineering solution. Unlike standard drywall, gypsum fiberboard is reinforced with cellulose fibers throughout its entire thickness, which gives it exceptional density and resistance to direct fire.

We offer comprehensive engineering services—from thickness calculations to the precise installation of gypsum fiber fire protection systems to provide protection for up to 120 minutes or more.

Why should you entrust your project to us?

Our specialists are trained and certified to work with Rudolf Hensel GmbH products.

Upon completion, we issue a Report on Applied Thicknesses, Declarations of Performance (in accordance with EN 13501-2), and ETO Certificates as required by the Fire Safety and Civil Protection authorities.

Hensotherm fire protection systems guarantee a service life of up to 25 years for the coating.

Our engineering and manufacturing process:

Surface preparation and priming:

Clean the metal and apply a compatible anti-corrosion primer (e.g., HENSOGRUND) to ensure perfect adhesion.

Airless Spraying:

The paint is applied using specialized airless sprayers, which ensure a perfectly smooth surface and even distribution of the material.

Thickness Control (Microns):

We conduct continuous monitoring during the coating process. We measure both the wet film thickness (WFT) and the dry film thickness (DFT) using calibrated digital thickness gauges to achieve the exact microns specified in the design.

Topcoat (HENSOTOP):

Application of a topcoat in a color of your choice (RAL / NCS), which protects the fire-retardant paint from moisture and UV rays, ensuring an attractive, commercial appearance.

Sealing of installation penetrations (Fire Stopping)

Design and Installation of Fire-Rated Penetrations (Seals)

In the construction of modern buildings, thousands of cables, pipes, and air ducts pass through fire-resistant walls and slabs. These service penetrations compromise the integrity of fire compartments and become the fastest route for the spread of fire, smoke, and toxic gases.

We offer professional design and certified installation of fire-rated penetration systems. Our goal is to restore the structure’s fire resistance and ensure that the fire remains contained within the area where it originated.

The services we provide include:

Sealing openings through which individual cables, cable bundles, or metal cable trays pass. We use special intumescent coatings.

Plastic pipes melt quickly in a fire, leaving dangerous holes in the walls. We install certified fire-resistant collars and intumescent tape, which, when heated, expand inward and completely seal around the pipe, blocking the fire.

Metal pipes conduct high temperatures and can ignite materials in the adjacent room. We install specialized pipe insulation and flexible fire-resistant seals that accommodate thermal expansion and block smoke.

Fire protection for linear joints in walls and floors subject to structural movement. We use high-tech elastic systems (fire-resistant cables, special panels, and coatings) that withstand fire without losing their elasticity.

Why is proper execution critical?

More than 75% of fire victims die from toxic smoke that seeps through unsealed cable and pipe runs.

This prevents the spread of flames to adjacent floors or server rooms containing valuable equipment.

Each installation is accompanied by a Completion Report and Certificates of Conformity for the materials, without which the building cannot be put into service by the Fire Safety and Civil Protection authorities.

Our engineering services include:

A detailed inspection and documentation of all access routes at the site.

Selecting the optimal and cost-effective solution based on the type of installation.

Precise installation by specialists certified by the manufacturers.

Installation of mandatory identification plates on each penetration, providing information on the system type and fire resistance rating (EI 60, EI 90, EI 120).

Smoke and fire curtains

Design, Delivery, and Installation of Fire and Smoke Curtains

We offer comprehensive engineering solutions for passive fire protection in buildings - from the initial design and selection of certified materials to professional installation and ongoing maintenance.

Our team ensures reliable zoning of spaces in full compliance with Bulgarian regulations (Regulation No. Iz-1971) and European fire safety standards.

Our engineering solutions include:

High-tech systems that deploy automatically upon receiving a signal from the fire alarm control panel (FACP).

  • Appendix:Division of large retail spaces (malls), underground parking garages, industrial warehouses, and atriums into separate fire compartments.
  • Protection: Prevents the spread of direct flame, radiant heat, and smoke (Fire resistance classes: E, EW, EI from 60 to 120+ minutes).
  • Advantage: In their normal state, they are fully retracted into the ceiling and do not interfere with the interior design. They descend in a controlled manner under their own weight (Gravity Fail-Safe) even in the event of a power outage.

Automated barriers designed specifically to control the flow of toxic gases and smoke.

  • Application: They are used in combination with smoke vents to create “smoke reservoirs” in the upper part of the building.
  • Protection: They prevent smoke from spreading horizontally throughout the building, ensuring clean air in the evacuation zones.

Permanent, fixed partitions made of certified non-flammable fabric or glass.

  • Application: Ideal for industrial warehouses, logistics centers, and large storage facilities with high ceilings.
  • Advantage: A cost-effective solution with no moving parts that requires minimal maintenance but ensures consistent security.

Why Choose Our Engineering Services?

We handle the entire process - site survey, design, delivery, certified installation, and commissioning.

All curtains bear the CE marking and Declarations of Performance in accordance with EN standards.

We guarantee that the building will pass the inspections conducted by the Fire Safety Authority without any issues when it is put into operation.
