Pneumatic smoke vents are a key component of Automatic Smoke and Heat Exhaust Systems (ASHE). Their primary function is to open automatically on the building’s roof in the event of a fire to vent toxic smoke, poisonous gases, and accumulated heat out of the premises.
The pneumatic actuation system is synonymous with maximum autonomy and reliability, as it operates on the principle of compressed air/gas and does not depend on the building’s electrical power supply.
Each hatch is equipped with an individual thermal ampoule and a CO2 cartridge. When a critical temperature (e.g., 68°C or 93°C) is reached beneath the cover, the ampoule bursts, punctures the cartridge, and the released gas mechanically opens the hatch.
